What Gisela & Maury Did Last Week

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates these last few days. Maury's been super busy not only helping me design and build my closet space but also designing my website and business cards! This woman is a power-house. Amazing things are to come of her and I just can't wait!

In the midst of all this craziness last week, Maury and I stopped at the Kelly Wearstler designed room at Bergdorf Goodman. Both of us are inspired by her no holds barred approach and Maury is clearly smitten by this brilliant woman with legit reason.

Here we are pondering the beauty of it all..lol

Maury's been forever eyeing the YSL tributes. Which should she invest in, the suede black or leopard print? I vote for the latter, no surprise there, lol.

Before we hit BG we visited the Manolo Blahnik sample sale. We were fashionably late, and in the sample sale world, thats' just god awful! Even the porters quipped "you guys missed it, all the good stuff is gone." That wasn't enough to make us turn around, lol. We marched right up the stairs of the Warwick hotel and into a frenzy of hobbling women trying on shoes. Maury and I grabbed whatever caught our eyes, even though nothing was left.

...and Andre Leon Talley(ALT) approved! He saw me scrounging for more shoes and he said "Honey, you got the best pair, get out of here!" lool

A couple of days ago I attended the Google HiTech Fashion event where Google debuted their "Boutiques.com" website. Just imagine if  "shopstyle.com" and "polyvore.com" had a child, and you've got the gist. According to the site: "Boutiques.com is a personalized shopping experience, brought to you by Google, that lets you find and discover fashion goods through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers -- celebrities, stylists, designers, and fashion bloggers. Boutiques uses visual technology to help fashionistas discover and shop their look and creates the opportunity for designers to showcase their collections and latest inspirations online."

The suare was chic and tasteful.. From gigantic human size chess boards to b-boy break-dancers and suspended burlesque ballerinas, it had it all! Google definitely lived up to its rep. Yummy hors d'ouvres were served non-stop through the evening, inventive drinks such as the Jalapeno Pineapple cocktail I couldn't get enough of had the guests coming back for more and not to mention having fun celeb-spotting (Kelly Obsbourne and Alexa Chung :-)

For this event I finally got to wear my Valentino kitten heels! I was wearing these fab Moschino ostrich slingbacks initially. As I started walking to the train I realized I can't walk in them! A 5 minute walk to the train took me 15! I kept stopping because the shoes were wobbly and I kept falling to the sides, like what the heck! I'm sure people thought I was drunk.  I had tried them on and walked around before buying but they did not transition well to the streets. I love them but darn it!

After I changed to the Valentino's I don't think I will wear any other shoe for a long long time. They are so comfy!!

Gisela wears: Topshop black goat fur, Herve Leger skirt and Valentino kitten heels.

  2. So few people admit (or even recognize) when they cannot walk in a pair of shoes. It happens to all of us, and I love that you're not scared to say it!
