It's time to bring out all our old sequined garb from the closet because Chistophe Decarnin's last show for Balmain Fall/Winter 09/10 proved just that! It seemed like it was Spring 09's part deux judging from the sequined embellished emsembles that hit the runway. The hemlines were extremely short and sexy, the same pagoda shoulders were back, and the different sparkly fabrics were still present. Don't get me wrong we loved last season's collection, but we wanted to see what other eye candy can Decarnin supply us with. Two new designs he showed were the open front harem pants and quilted leather pieces which I thought was very cool, more like motorcycle trashy chic than anything else out there. It also reminded me of our late Versace's early 90's collection being 80's inspired. Diana Ross and Michael jackson were evidently present in the inspiration board of Dercarnin. I have yet to see the accessories up close since I'd like to take a closer look at those fetishistic boots. I am pretty sure I would want a pair, as I love rock and roll glamour. But Decarnin, please go back to the drawing board and give us something new to drool over as I just left behind that same sequined skirt while shopping at goodwill. I still have much love for this brand and will continue to see my favorite French Vogue ladies parading them at Les Jardins des Tuileries!  We would sure see this collection knocked off by the Bebe's, H&M's, Forever 21's since most of us can't afford 12k for one of the pagoda shoulder jackets. On a happy note, we will keep you posted as we will embellish ourselves with sequins throughout this year!
