Seeing Red

Lately, Gisela and I have been talking about what colors have been inspiring us this Fall season. As you all know, we always wear tons and tons of black, but this season we are trying to look more into COLOR. As a result, Gisela has been obsessing over RED RED RED lately, and it didn't take long for me to notice and be influenced as well. I have a knack for colors in Interiors, but don't really try it on my myself when buying clothes or trying things on. Lately, Gisela has been scouting all over Ebay for an amazing Tailored suit just like the Givenchy ones, and I of course have been looking at spaces that inspire me for some of my clients.  We wanted to share some pics of some of the looks we are loving and some of the spaces that oomph the color red. Well, I guess you guys can't wait to see one of us wear RED, I guess we are going to start painting the town in RED.  BTW, What are some of your favorite looks showing red?

Badass Bitches in Burberry Bombers!

I've been obsessing over shearlings for years, ever since Balenciaga's cropped shearling in FW03! Maury tells me I got a "Fiebre" which means "Fever" in english. And dam right I got the shearling fever. I was not gonna stop til that fever was gone!

A few years ago I bought my husband a custom-made sheepskin by Pat Garrett at www.sickafus.com for his birthday. It was amazing and I was so jealous!  So when Christopher Bailey debuted his fall10 collection I almost died, as I'm sure most of you did..Fast forward to today, I finally found the perfect aviator without breaking the bank. Turns out Balenciaga knocked off this original aviator below in his FW03 collection..what luck!

On the left is my ebay shearling and on the right is the Balenciaga FW03 version, which was on ebay earlier this year (I was outbid :-( lol) There similarities are shocking.. from the color and patching to the single front pocket. The only difference is that my jacket is not cropped nor as fitted, but still, I was on cloud 9 when I won it!

Thought I'd try reversing it! Does it work?

Camel and Capes

 Gisela and I have been obsessing about outerwear and having great jackets and coats. One of the big MUST HAVE TRENDS of this season is CAMEL...we have been seeing everywhere from the runways, to the streets. My first interaction with camel that I could remember was in Junior High School. My mom has always been into fashion and Interiors, so I guess I got it all from her.  But, she had gotten me 2 pea coats from the GAP...one of them in Navy and the other in Camel. I was obsessed with these coats since they went with everything...I used to pair them with cute stocking and miniskirts, or trousers and loafers...it was one of my fav. staples as a kid.  Since, then I always passed down coats to my little sisters. When I first starting building my closet last year I got rid of tons of coats and I had a particular one that I wasn't using much since I am petite.  I had told my sister she can borrow it and she loved it so much it became hers.  She has been wearing it ever since! 

Above is my little sister Lili wearing a vintage Eddie Baur Camel Cape with Club Monaco patent leather gloves, and Ralph Lauren Speedy Check Bag I also gave her paired with Christian Louboutin Shoes.  She is a lil fashionista herself and is always dressing up every chance she gets.  She looks a little on the dark side with the pics being a gloomy- taken with my Iphone.  

What made me do a posting on these old pics of Lili was the cape coat that my Idol Anna Dello Russo wore during Paris fashion week.  Both coats look very similar.

The Selby & CB2 Contest- Judging in Progress

It's 3.00 A.M. NYC time and I still can't seem to go to sleep when I have a long day ahead of myself tomorrow. I am taking a week off from work to dedicate my time to some amazing projects for my personal career. It seems like I have endless long nights where I find myself overly enthusiastic about decorating and pursing my love for interiors and fashion that I have become a so called "Design Zombie." Words can't even explain the craziness that goes inside my head and all the things I want to share with this world.  I found myself thinking about The Selby & CB2 Contest I entered and made it to the finals. I decided to check their CB2 Facebook page and see if there were any updates.  I saw they included 3 pics of what's going on in the meetings.  I wanted to share with you guys and I can't wait for the end of October so I can see who they pick.  Please check the contest and let me know what you think of some of the other entries or of my mine.  

I wonder what they are saying about my entry...just thinking about it makes me want to bite my nails...LOL.

Somewhere in that wall my entry is hanging waiting to be picked as one of the winners.

Tempted for Temperley

I know NY Fashion week has long been over, but there is still a slew of images that we haven't shared with you guys. The Temperley show took place in Milk Studios and Alice showed her 2 collections- Temperley London, and her younger fun line Alice.  I loved  a lot of the looks as they were very wearable and could easily be worn during the day and take you through the night. I loved her inspiration of the romantic myth of Guineviere and Arthur.  There were some medieval harnesses throughout the collection that I loved, and Alice was actually wearing one as well with her leather shorts and thigh high boots. I personally love the broken glass all over the floor and the many different hats, I felt like I wanted to jet set and fly to Bora Bora so I can wear all these outfits. Happy Tenth Anniversary Temperley!!!!
