Welcome to Gisela's Closet!

So I've officially moved to Jersey, even though to me it's not really Jersey because I'm literally 1 stop on the Path Train from the World Trade Center Area, nevertheless I'm an Uptown Girl turned Jersey Girl. I'm still in the process of decorating and arranging the apartment but, of course, the first order of business was my closet. After a lot of effort and tons of purging I was able to condense my wardrobe to the items that I will always love and use. It was a difficult task and very hard to let go of, for example, a beautiful DVF wrap dress, a Michael & Hushi one of a kind piece, some Catherine Malandrino tops and tons of items that still had tags on them. This was a good lesson for me, I learned to stop buying on impulse, especially trendy pieces. I also learned that, like Nini, I will continue to invest in classic, well-made items that will have a long lasting presence in my wardrobe.

Let's start with my shoe closet, which is my inspiration for even getting up in the morning, LOL!

During this massive purging, I found a top, which I'd picked up about 2 years ago from one of Toronto's cool vintage shops on Kensington Market. I don't know exactly why I was attracted to this piece, I think I loved the sharp shoulders, the interesting tribal pattern and the structure of it. Although its an interesting top, I have no idea how to style it and better yet, I don't even know if I should keep it. I need you guys to help me decide wether I should get rid of it, or salvage it and make something of it. What do you guys think??
