The Selby & CB2 Contest- I Made it to the TOP 50

I am not sure if you guy were following The Selby contest with CB2, but I am so happy to announce to you all that I made it to the second round.  Thanks a lot for those that voted for me. I named my entry  " The Anna dello Russo of the Heights" Below, I have included some of the pics I was contemplating submitting for the contest. I included pics of my livingroom, my office, and one of the bedrooms that I converted into a huge walk in closet. I still have to photograph my whole apt, but these give you an idea of my eclectic space. Now, I have to wait till the end of October to see if I am one of the top 15 entries. The top price would get a $10k giftcard to CB2  and a photoshoot with Todd Selby! Cross your fingers as I am looking forward to having Mr. Todd Selby meet the Anna dello Russo of the Heights...LOL. 

   

Above is one of my favorites pictures ever of my coffee table. I am obsessed with my elephant brass figurine and Clam Shell Vase where I use it to put my California grapevines.

 

 
 
  

I use the shell that I got from Jamaica to put my rings when I sometimes feel lazy to go to my closet to place them where they belong.  BTW, one of my teachers from HS is Mr. Dean Merceron, who is the mastermind behind the Lanvin book by Rizzoli. It's one of my favorite coffee tables of all times. Also, the printed pillow in the background is an Hermes Scarf that I used to cover the pillow.  I love that scarf!!!!

   

Here are some pics of one of the bedrooms that I converted into an office. I am still not done decorating the way I would love to, so I am taking my time till it's perfect. I have tons of mags and books that serve as  big inspirations. I am an avid collector of Interior mags and International Mags. Some of my favorite mags are Domino, House and Garden, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Rue magazine, and Lonny magazine.

 

    

Before I started taking pics, I started sketching some designs for my portfolio while seeping on some Chamomile tea.

All Hail Queen IMAN!

Hey all! The Iman Cosmetics Fall 1010 Campaign I styled for her this summer is on the web finally! I thought up this "Leather and Lace" look and it looks so rock/chic, exactly how I envisioned! Brilliant hair, makeup and photography, made it all come together nicely!

 

2 weeks ago I styled Iman for and HSN Global Chic shoot featuring this gorgeous camel cape. I fell in love with that military green neck knit scarf which I found at Bloomingdales in Soho, the sweat pants and checkered shirt are Zara and the boots are my old Balenciaga knock off Baker's boots.

I chose this gorgeous lace Dolce & Gabbana corset for her, which they let her keep! and paired it with The Row leggings, which I'm still dying to get..She wore this at the unveiling of her Home Collection during NY Fashion Week.

 

Here she is with David in a Zara sequin jacket I purchased for her at the store. She wanted sharper shoulders so I had a tailor put them in. She's a fan of mixing hi and lo!

  

Needless to say this woman is an inspiration to me! Sometimes when I'm overwhelmed at home with my baby boy and household chores, I think what the heck? Iman juggles mommyhood, runs a major cosmetics company, designs her Global Chic for HSN line and just launched her own Home Collection during NY's Fashion week, not to mention multiple and forever ongoing promotional appearances! Somehow changing diapers and doing laundry doesn't seem so hard after all, lmao!

A NEW DECADE: My Big 3+0

Hello Guys, 

I entered my 3rd decade this past September 10th, but was so busy with Gisela doing the whole Fashion Night out and attending fashion shows and events that I decided to celebrate my bday the following week. To celebrate, we had an intimate dinner with some of my closest friends and sisters at Azucar, a Pan-Latin Fusion Restaurant in the Theatre district in NYC.  We had a great time with tons of laughs, Sangria and very tasty food.  After dinner we went to the SkyBar Rooftop in Time Square to continue the celebration.

Here I am about to blow my candle and make a wish or a couple wishes.  I hope they all come true!! I am dreamer, so I am dreaming big.  But once you hit 30 you have to wake up and start making those dreams a reality, there is no more room for "what ifs" or "wish I did", etc. I was told the 30's are all about taking more responsibility with your life, and making things happen! I am up for the journey and the crazy and exciting challenges that come by way...welcome 30! 

  

Here are my sisters Ashley, Madelyn, Lizbeth and myself looking so chic in black. We didn't even plan our outfits. My sister Madelyn is wearing her Pierre Hardly Color block booties we got at Barneys, Lizbeth is wearing Stella McCartney Lucite heels sandals, and I am wearing Azzedine Alaia Jingle Bells Python Sandals. BTW, we are about to work on the Bisono Empire! 

 

I finally decided to wear one of my Herve Leger dresses that I bought last year on Gilt.com.  I absolutely love it but wanted to wear it to celebrate my big 30.  Gisela is wearing leather BCBG Motorcycle jacket and Celine long black dress. I am wearing Gisela's Zara boyfriend Jacket.

 This is Lucy, one of my best friends. She has the most amazing skin ever! Don't you guys agree? We go back to High School....wow, the years are going by so fast! Lucy and I travel a lot together and share the best laughs in the world....When we get together we are like two big goofballs, LOL. 

  

Here is my other best friend Fior and Gisela. Fior and I also met in High School together but we became super close in college. She just got married to the stud on the background.

  

We drank more than 6 pitchers of Azucar's Amazing Frozen Sangria...yum yum.

 

These delectable ribs were sliding right off the bones...I wish I had a plate right now.

  

Azucar's Arroz con pollo, I didn't get to tasted :( but my sisters told me it was good, but nothing compared to our moms cooking.

  

I had the Churasco with Chimichurri sauce...I loved it!

  

Here is my college friend Yovaira a.k.a. known as Yovi.  She is also my gym partner in crime...watch the legs pic below!

   

To the left is Ana, my best friend since we were little 5th graders in elementary school. The memories Ana and I have shared are beyond eon years.  I am so grateful that throughout all this time we have still managed to still stay close. She recently had a gorgeous and intimate wedding in Aruba which I went to. 

 

Here is the whole party...thanks guys for coming out and celebrating with me!

 

Gisela, I don't know if I tell you often, but I love you girl! You have shown me so much in all these years and I am truly grateful for everything we have shared, all our wonderful and sad life experiences, and the crazy lol moments. Including the crazy storm we experienced that day...lol.  May we have tons of more decades to share together!

What Gisela Wore Today...

 Hey guys! Just a quick outfit post today! I haven't done this in a while and today I thought why not? I thought you brilliant taste makers and trend setters would enjoy a lil' Isabel Marant this afternoon :-) I know I did!

Crushing on DION LEE

Things are heating up DOWN UNDER,  as I have a huge designer crush on DION LEE, the 24 year old Aussie.  I have been looking at Lee's collections for 2 seasons now, as he is only on his 4th. I wish I could go to Sydney so I can personally see his clothes, I don't think he has any American Retailers carrying his line, and I wonder why! This Sydney based designer is ONE TO WATCH!  His collection draws on Eighties shapes, using directional shoulders and body-conscious silhouettes while twisting and sculpting the fabric for a refreshingly modern and slightly futuristic aesthetic - think Working Girl meets Star Trek. Dion's signature dresses and cut-out blazers have been enthusiastically received by Sydney's fashion pack and Australian Vogue has demonstrated its full support of the young designer, affirming that he's "on the radar of Australia's premier buyers and editors".

I love his use of color, shapes and cutouts! He is so innovative...I need one of his pieces in my life like NOW NOW NOW!

This blue pleated and twisted number is so orgasmic! Excuse my language, but that's the way it made me feel...LOL.

And we all know, I love to show off the legs, so this collection is quite my alley! Dion lee, please send me a piece ASAP!!

She wears the pants! So Gisela wore the Fendi pants again, and ever since I laid eyes on them, It was like love at first site...LOL.  I couldn't blame her for wearing them the next day for the Bazaar Accessories Show.  I think she looks gorgeous on these pics I took of her.
